A New Kind of Fun

I know that the recommendations warn against using walkers with infants, but we had this left from when Logan was a baby and Brooks is having a field day with it. I am not sure who enjoys it more, Brooks or Logan. Logan loves pushing him around or walking around with him. Logan enjoys playing with Brooks a lot more now that he is more interactive and mobile. As you can tell, Brooks is all better now. We are so glad that the stomach bug has finally decided to leave our house.

Poor Little Brooks

As many of you already know, Brooks was hospitalized for 4 days due to rotavirus. He was a very sick, dehydrated little guy. Dr. Greg told us had we waited any longer to bring him in, he would have been in the hospital for a week. He received IV fluids for 3 days and then they started him back on a special formula and watched him on that for 24 hours before discharging him to home. He was such a sweet little patient. He smiled at everyone that came in the room, even when he felt the worst. On top of all of that, Darrell and I both came down with some aspect of the stomach bug while needing to care for Brooks. Nothing is worse than being a sick parent to a sick baby. Your baby has to have your love and attention, no matter what. Thank you to everyone for your prayers, love, support, phone calls, etc. Brooks is doing much better today. He is eating like he is feeling great and trying to make up for lost time.

Feeling much better. IV fluids gone!!!

Warm Weather Fun

It's amazing what a little warm weather can do for us. Logan came in from school and decided that he wanted to play some baseball in the back yard with Daddy. He decided that playing in his old baseball uniform would make the experience complete. Poor little Brooks is sick AGAIN so he had to watch from inside. We had him positioned in his highchair so he could look out the window to see the boys in the backyard. Salem also decided to jump in the window for a little sunshine. Our family is itching for the warm weather to be here for good. We love to get outside and do things as a family, even if it means just going for a walk. Hope everyone else is enjoying some outside time with their family as well.

Boys Will Be Boys

I don't know if you can really tell from these pictures, but Logan has a black eye. These pictures do not do it justice plus it happened 3 days ago. And you ask, "how did he do it"? He collided with the gym floor at school but I believe he did not come out the winner of this fight. Poor little guy is bruised all down onto his cheek as well. While I'm on the subject, I have to say that I am slightly aggravated with his preschool because they did not even send home an incident report. He told me that he got ice, etc, etc. but I want to know from an adult what happened to my five year old. I don't want to hear from him. All that to be said, he is no worse for the wear and he goes on like nothing ever happened. This is not the first nor will it be the last of his injuries. All I can say is that he really is pretty tough little guy.

Christmas in February

No really, I did just get Brooks' 6 month photos back and to me, it's better than Christmas. I get so much enjoyment out of seeing the different facial expressions and actions that Ginny catches on camera. The following post includes several collages of photos from the 6 month photo shoot. She even took some of Logan, too.

6 Month Pictures.......a little late

You know, your best laid plans sometimes don't fall into place. I thought I had picked the best time for Ginny to come and take pictures of the boys. Brooks would just be getting up from his afternoon nap and would be in a good mood (hopefully) and Logan would be getting home from school and would only need a change of clothes and a little freshening up. WELLLLL, not the way it happened. Logan would not sit still or smile and Brooks was really fussy. Wouldn't you know. But I think we did get several good shots.
