Cheap Toys

Brooks received his big boy carseat in the mail today and he and Logan enjoyed the box best of all. They had so much fun going in and out of it and playing peek a boo. Logan would scare Brooks and he would just laugh. He thought it was the best thing in the world. For that matter, he thinks Logan is the best thing in the world but Logan can be so mean to him. Yes, it's already started. Oh well, I guess this is what I have to look forward to.

An update on the little man. He went for his one year check up on Monday and he weighed in at a whopping 23 lb 2 oz and was 29.5 inches. He got two immunizations and a TB skin test. He was not a happy camper after that but nothing that a little mommy loving wouldn't cure. He has two bottom teeth and one eye tooth upper left but the other 3 upper teeth are right behind that. You can see white poking through on those. He is such a joy to have around with his constant smile and big dimples.

A Tribute to Fathers

I would like to wish my hubby a wonderful Father's Day. He is the best husband and father in the world and I so lucky to have him in my life. When I think of Father's Day this year, I think of all of the special men I've had in my life. Many of them have gone on to be with Jesus but I want to include them in this post as well because they made such a difference in my life by their influence and their love for me. I hope that everyone reading this post is having a blessed Father's Day.

While preparing this slide show it made me realize how fast time and life flies past us. I can remember sitting in the hospital bed one year ago today not believing that at 8 pm I would be going for my C-Section to meet this little boy we had prayed for and waited so long to meet. It felt like an eternity since we had found out he was going to be in our life.

First thing this morning Logan and I sang happy birthday to him and we celebrated one whole, wonderful year of his life. We cannot wait to watch Brooks grow and celebrate many more birthdays in the years to come.

It's finally here and I can't believe it. We celebrated Brooks' 1 st birthday on Saturday with lots of family and good friends on hand to help us out. I put together a little slideshow to share a few tidbits of the fun. Thanks to everyone who came to help us celebrate one year of life for our little Brooks.

Heaven Welcomed A New Angel

I wanted to post a little something about my stepfather who went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 30, 2009. He was one of the very best people you could ever meet and I was so lucky to have him in my life as long as I did. As many of you may know, Ed was the one who walked me down the isle on my wedding day along with many other things that are too numerous to mention here. I know that God has great big plans for him and he is having a wonderful time in heaven doing the things he loves (tennis, running, artwork, hot yoga, the list could go on and on) and spending time with loved ones that had gone on before him. He will surely be missed more than any amount of words in this post could say. I love you Ed and miss you already. Thank you for everything you did for me.

PS: He and I danced at my wedding reception to the song playing on my playlist. Had to move it to play first because there are so many special memories attached to that song, especially now.
