Mom, I'm real tired of being dressed like a pumpkin!!!
Brooks fell asleep on our bed today while I was getting ready to go out and about. If he were old enough to express his feelings, I think that he would be saying I'm tired of pumpkin clothes!! I can't help it...it's too cute when they are this little. Hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween.

Pumpkin Carvin' at the Poteet's
We had a little pumpkin carving fun at our house tonight. Darrell and I even got into which made Logan that much more excited about it. Logan had to take his shirt off so he wouldn't ruin it while he was arm deep in the pumpkins getting the seeds out. We bought this neat pumpkin carving kit that came with all of these different faces and designs. It also had all of the knives and things to use to cut out the designs. We had a very good time. Even Brooks was a good boy sitting with us while we carved away. I think that we will make this a yearly tradition on Halloween.

Time Flies When You're Having Fun
My "little" boys are growing so fast!! I can remember like it was yesterday when Logan was born and within the blink of an eye, next month he will be "5". Where has the time gone? On the other hand, I have Brooks who was 4 months on the 17th of this month. How do I slow down time? They are such a delight and I love them both so much.

Happy Fall Yall
I had to share photos of this sweet outfit that Meme got for Brooks. I love it because he can wear it now for Halloween and even through Thanksgiving. Thanks Meme for buying this for Brooks. I had to share this via the blog because Meme lives near Nashville and we wanted her to be able to see it. We love you and miss you Meme. Hope to see you again very soon.
Construction Crew
Logan had the best setup in the backyard. He had all of his construction equipment working in the dirt and leaves. He hasn't played with these in quite awhile so it was cute to see him playing with them. He would have been content to be out there all day, if we had let him. He was one tired and dirty little boy that night.
Pumpkins Galore
Samantha and I took a trip with the kiddos to the Fruit and Berry Patch last Saturday. It's not your true pumpkin patch but it sure made for a few good pictures. We were looking forward to being able to pick our own pumpkins, but as you can tell, all of the pumpkins were already picked and sitting on the ground to choose from. They did have a hayride, animals to feed, etc for the older children. Oh, and how could I forget...some really good homeade fried fruit pies. Oh well, we know when next Halloween rolls around to find a different pumpkin patch.

Halloween Party 2008
Logan and Brooks were invited to a Halloween party at one of our neighbor's house. It was so fun. Grant's mom had planned all types of fun activities for the kids. First off, they all wore their costumes. It was so cute to see what each child has chosen to be this Halloween. They took pictures of each child as they entered and later they decorated a frame for that picture. They then ate all the pizza and sweet stuff you can imagine. Other fun times were with the making of lollipop ghosts, haunted houses made out of graham crackers with frosting, and decorating their candy bags and frames. How could I forget the limbo to Halloween music as well. All of the kids had such a good time. What a neat idea to have a party like this. It showed so much thought. Brooks had a good time chewing on his costume. He was fussy and ready to go to bed, so whatever it took to keep him happy. That was about all he was interested in. Maybe next year he will be more into the whole party atmosphere.

Time with Sarah
Samantha and Sarah came over today to hang out and run around with Brooks and I. We haven't been together in probably three weeks, and boy has Sarah grown. They just stared and laughed at each other. I am sure that they will be good friends. We are going to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. I will have some good pictures to share after that.
Sleepy Heads
On the days that I am off, when Logan wakes up, he comes to our bedroom and climbs in bed. This morning I had both boys in my bed. What a wonderful way to start your day!! I only lacked one boy from being a full house. Daddy was already gone to work. Logan asked if he could hold Brooks and these are the pictures from that moment. They sure do love each other and I sure love them a whole lot!!!

Better Late than Never
These pictures should have been a part of the "How Do We Pick" post, but here they are now. I grouped them as Logan pictures, Brooks pictures, and Logan/Brooks/Mommy collages. Before you see the pictures of me, let me tell you that I was not planning on being in the pictures. The photographer is a girl that I go to church with and she said "Come on. Let me take a few with you in them". I really would have done more with myself (fixed my hair, put more makeup on, worn different clothes, etc.) I was too worried with getting Logan and Brooks ready. Oh well, I'm glad that I have these. I think the ones of the boys are great. I really don't know how we will pick. She gave us a CD with all of the pictures on them with no copyright so we can print whatever we chose. She will also be taking 6, 9, and 12 photos. Can't wait!!

Our little vocalist
Logan sang at church this morning with the Children's Choir. He put a lot of practice into this performance and he did a great job. They sang two songs and they both had hand motions to go along with them. Watching these kids sing is such a funny sight. They are all on different notes, some singing louder than others, some standing around, others waving and screaming hello to their mom and dad, and some giving it all they've got and they are the only ones that you hear. We got it on video. I will try to post a clip of it but until then, here are a few pictures.
Off to the Circus
Yesterday we went to the Shriner's Circus at Thompson Boling Arena. We had a good time. Our favorite parts were the tigers and the elephants, but as you can tell from the pictures, Brooks was a little less than excited about the whole thing. He had a good nap though. Sorry there are not more pictures to share and the ones that we have are a little dark, but I remembered almost half way through that we had brought our camera.

My Little Pumpkin
I don't think that there is anything more cute or fun than a baby's first Halloween. This is one of the few years that you get to decide what they will be for Halloween. My littlest man is going to be a pumpkin and Logan is going to be Batman. This was an outfit I got for him at Target. It says My First Halloween...couldn't pass it up, especially with the little hat to go with it.
Brooks is a little better today. I had to leave work early because he wouldn't take a bottle from Daddy. Daddy did his best to get as much Pedialyte in him as he could with a syringe but he was lethargic and had no urine output since 5 am, so I came on home. I'm not sure if he won't take a bottle because he doesn't feel well or he is just being hard-headed but today was not a good day for him to pull this. As soon as I got home, he nursed like a champ and seemed to perk up after that. Anyone with some tips on getting a baby that is breastfed to take a bottle, please let me know. Any other time, I would say "he'll eat when he gets hungry" but not when he is recovering from this stomach bug. Tomorrow is a new day. Darrell and I sure felt better after 48 hours so hopefully he will.

Interesting Week Thus Far
Well I know it's been several days since I posted last but it has been an interesting week so far. We all know what little germ factories our 5 year olds can be but boy, did Logan ever bring home a good one this time. It all started with him the wee hours of Saturday morning...vomiting, diarrhea, and lasted about 48 hours. Darrell and Logan were quarantined upstairs while Brooks and I stayed downstairs, in hopes that we would not get this ugly bug. Much to my dismay, Darrell came down with it on Sunday evening and I started showing signs Monday morning. Well Monday was to be my first day back to work; obviously that didn't happen nor did Tuesday. I thought we were in the clear with Brooks but he woke up with it this morning. Talk about breaking your heart....seeing and hearing your 3 month old baby crying with the same aches and discomforts that you know you had while fighting it off, plus it worries you half to death with a baby this young. He's being a little trooper though. I've managed to get a few smiles out of him today (see pictures above) despite his feeling miserable. Its hard to see him like this because he is usually the exact opposite. I know this to shall pass. I have disinfected my house to the best of my ability. I will be glad to say goodbye to this bug.
The plan is for me to start back to work tomorrow and Daddy stay home with Brooks. Hopefully, it won't be a long night and Brooks will be able to rest. I'm ready for life to be back to normal. Until then, I have ALOT of laundry and cleaning to catch up on. Hope everyone else is having a good week.
