Fireproof

Darrell and I were able to go and see this wonderful movie on the night that it opened thanks to our church. They bought every seat in one theatre for the couples at our church, as well as provided childcare, because they felt so strongly that all married couples should see it. It is such a great movie. It was produced by the same people that made Facing the Giants. I recommend that every couple go see it or rent it when it comes out on DVD if you cannot get to the theatre. It was such a blessing. Our church even gave us a devotional to go along with it. Here is the link to the website about the movie. Check it out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I wanted to post a very Happy Birthday to the best sister in the world, Holly, and the most wonderful aunt to Logan and Brooks. I hesitate to say that I don't have a more recent picture of us to post but I sure do love this girl and miss her alot. I count it such a blessing to be able to consider my own sister as one of my best friends. Holly, we hope that you have the happiest birthday ever. We love you!!!

Trial Run

Yesterday I took Brooks to the babysitter for a trial run. I could not expect to be able to take him on Monday for the first time and be able to go to work and function that day. It was good for both of us, as well as the sitter, because they were able to adjust to one another and I went to work and did some computer based learning that needed to be done by the end of the year. He did so well for Michelle. He ate his bottles (YEH) and took naps like a good boy. I did OK because it was not the whole day plus I know that Michelle loves him like one of her own children. Knowing that I will be working only three days a week and he will be with home with Daddy on Friday's gives me the strength I need to do this. It is just so hard to leave your little ones to go back to work.

Anyone that knew me while I was pregnant with Logan may recognize the outfit that Brooks is wearing. Logan wore it 5 years ago!! That is so hard to believe... .a)that Logan will be 5 in November b)that we have another little guy wearing the same outfit that Logan wore. I love Eric Carle and especially the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Anyway, I thought that I would share that with you all. Have a great week.

Barnyard

Logan decided today would be a good day to stay home from preschool with mommy. We were standing in the kitchen and saw this pot belly pig and his dog friend wander into our backyard. As you can tell, the pig had a harness with a tag on it so we knew it belonged to someone. The dog had the same type tag so we guessed they belonged to the same family. Logan enjoyed petting the pig, which we found out was named Otis and his dog friend, Sam. Sam took such good care of Otis. He followed him everywhere he went.

Come to find out, he didn't do too well being a chaperone because while we were gone to the grocery, our neighbor had called animal control on Sam and Otis because they were digging up his flowers. Animal control could find no sign of them because they hit the high trail. Logan sure enjoyed having them around for a little while. Not something you see everyday!!

How Do We Pick?

These are only a few of the pictures I promised to share after I got them back. These were made by a girl I go to church with. I think she did a great job. Let me know what you think. I will put more on here later. There are so many good ones that I can't pick which ones to post.

Tummy Time

Brooks absolutely hates tummy time. You can see the progression of faces from being ok with it, to frustration, to "I'm over it. I'll just suck on my arm". He lasted all of about 5 minutes, if that. Oh well, at least he will tolerate it for a short time. He'll never learn to roll over if he doesn't do it at least once a day.

Peaceful Sleep

This is the position that Brooks will take when he is sleeping good. I only wish that I could sleep through anything and everything like this child. He even slept through Darrell putting down hardwood floor (air compressor, nail gun, staple gun, etc.)

My time at home with Brooks before returning to work is drawing to a close. I don't feel like I am ready to leave this sweet little guy. I love the time I get to spend with him. These baby days go by way too quick. I know that he will be well cared for when I do go back. He will be staying with Michelle, a girl from my church. I know that she will love him like I do. That is the only thing that keeps me sane when I think about it. Please pray for me on September 29th. I will need it.

My 3 Boys

All of my boys in one place this morning....not a usual site. Darrell is off every Friday so we were able to have some good family time with no rush to be somewhere or do something. It was very nice. We had breakfast together and just relaxed. I even got to sleep in for a little while :)

I know that I am really outnumbered now (my cat is even a boy), but they promise me that I will always be the princess of the house. I'll take that. I am mighty proud of these boys!!!

Funny Boys

Logan has so much fun with Brooks. This morning he put his pacifier on his head and said it was his hairbow. Logan just giggled, and as you can tell from the pictures, Brooks thought it was funny too. Anything his brother does is interesting to him. We tell Logan that he to be a good example for his little brother because he is always going to be watching him and looking up to him. Brooks loves to sit and watch him play and he just smiles from ear to ear.

We have a girl from church, who is a photographer, coming to our house to take pictures of the boys. Hopefully they will cooperate. I will share them with everyone when we get them back.

The last two pictures were made yesterday afternoon when Logan got home from preschool. He always wants to hold Brooks and wants me take a picture. They are so sweet together.

My Sleeping Angel

We went to Nashville over the weekend. I wanted to see my family and friends before it is time to head back to work :( It was a wonderful visit. We had lots of fun time with family and we stayed with our friends, Katie and Adam, so we got to spend some quality time with them as well. I forgot that I had my camera so I missed out on so many good photo opportunities, but I did get these of little Logan catching a few zzz's on the ride to Nashville. He knew he was gonna need that extra energy when he got to Meme's house. They stayed up late watching movies and he even got to ride one of her horses. He was in heaven.

I really wish I had gotten some pictures of Darrell and Adam playing Guitar Hero. Adam was on the guitar and Darrell on the drums...quite humorous! Thanks to Adam, that will be the next toy Darrell will want to buy! Katie, Sophie, Brooks, and I went shopping at the mall and had lunch with my family on Saturday while Darrell and Adam got in a little golf. Saturday evening we had dinner with my good friend Melanie and her two beautiful children. She also has little Joel on the way. Hopefully he will be born on my birthday, Halloween.

We had such a good time. We really do miss everyone so much. We look forward to when we can get back for another visit.

Time with Papa

My dad came for a visit today. He lives in the Nashville area, so we don't get to see him very often. He had some good times playing dress up with Logan and holding Brooks. We also went to eat lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Aubrey's.

When we planned this visit, he told me that he had something to give me. I never expected for him to show up with the most beautiful blanket chest you have ever seen. It smells so good like cedar. I can't wait to use it. He also was "volunteered" to make Logan a bookshelf for his room. I can't wait to see the finished product!!

Thanks Dad for your visit. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Two of My Favorite Things

Brooks loves bathtime and his Bumbo seat. I just introduced the Bumbo seat yesterday because he is getting to where he pulls his head up and hates to lay down on his back. He is nosy and wants to know what is going on at all times. I guess this is the reason why he doesn't like to lay down for a nap for fear that he might miss something!!

Bathtime is a favorite time of day for Brooks. It is a vital part of his bedtime routine. He gets so relaxed that he transitions easily to sleep after his feeding. Logan has always loved bathtime as well. I guess little brother is gonna follow in his footsteps.

A Work Completed

Darrell finished the living room floor yesterday. He says his back hurts and he is exhuasted, but it looks GREAT!! He did such a good job. Now he only has the master bedroom, closet, office, and half bath to contend with. He finished the biggest area first.

I need to start searching for a rug to put in the living room and our bedroom. Anyone have suggestions as to where to find one at a reasonable price?
