Our Visit to the Fire Hall

We go to church with a Knox County Firefighter named Rusty. He was gracious enough to take his time to show us around the fire station and let the kids climb on all of the trucks and various modes of transportation that they have. He showed us where they sleep, their kitchen, locker room, etc. He even met us at the door with fire hats for the boys. Logan absolutely loves Rusty and talks about him all of the time and Brooks has already learned his name!!! He was going around saying Rusty the whole time we were there.

Logan thought he was the best on the "big" fire truck.
Little Brooks with his legs just hanging but loving every minute.

Rusty showing Logan how to use the Jaws of Life.
Showing the boys the rescue boat they use.
Acting like they're using the water nozzle on the boat.
Logan even got to put on Rusty's gear!!
Brooks looking up at Rusty in awe as he puts on his gear.
Rusty wasn't going to put on his gear but Logan finally talked him into it!!!
The boys with Rusty. They love him!!!

Rusty, thank you so much for taking your time to show us around. The boys had a great time and of course Logan came home acting like he was a firefighter. He took his pants and shoes off and him them stacked up looking like turn out gear!!

Catching Up

Well, we have been very busy. Brooks has been a sick little fella and earned himself a surgery to have tubes in his ears and his adenoids removed this past Thursday. He was sick going into the surgery so I was very apprehensive but he is feeling a little better each day.

We survived the blizzard of 2010. It was a good weekend to have to be stuck at home since Brooks was healing up from his surgery. Logan did get a chance to build a snowman with Nanny. She bundled him up and they got to work. Logan went to school 2 hours late today. He had a rough start to his day though. He was walking over to the next door neighbor's house that we carpool with and hit some black ice and fell down. He then got his fingers shut in the car door once he got over there :( Poor little fella, hopefully the rest of his day will be better. Other than that, we've just been busy with life in general. I'm including a bunch of different pictures taken over the past few weeks in an attempt to catch up.

Logan with his snowman. He liked it that he was almost his size.

Just thought this was a pretty picture of the snow.

Little Brooks in the bath tub. He loves bath time!

If you ever wonder where the huge container of cheese balls ended up, look for Brooks.

He would put his whole head in there to get to the bottom.

And here he is walking around the house carrying the whole container!

I did not get any pictures of him on his surgery day. Grabbing the camera was the last thing on my mind that morning. Oh well, that's one day I am glad is over and I hope he is much healthier from here on out.
