Chiefs & Indians

Logan had Native American day at school today and we just so happen to have this little Indian costume that fit the occasion so perfectly. They had already made vests out of brown grocery bags but Logan thought it would be great to wear his own costume. He was so proud!!! He had to have his picture made with Brooks this morning. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures who is the chief and who is the Indian here but Brooks sure thinks he runs the show around here!

Logan came home from school this afternoon talking about his Thanksgiving lunch at school and they had put "war paint" on his face. Nothing like a cute, little blonde headed Indian!!

Happy Birthday Logan

Six years ago today I became a mommy for the very first time. It's a day I'll never forget. One of the most special little boys entered my life and it's never been the same. He is such a blessing and I have loved watching him grow and change. As I put together the following collages it was such a realization of how fast time flies as well as a wonderful walk down memory lane. It seems like just yesterday that he was in my arms as a newborn and now its all I can go to get him to stop for 5 seconds for a hug and a kiss. I cannot wait to see what the years ahead bring for my little man. I know that he will be something great and that God has great big plans for him.

.....and can't wait to see what the 6th year and beyond brings!!! Happy Birthday Logan. We love you very much.

Birthday Fun

I lieu of a huge, expensive birthday bash this year we let Logan invite 3 friends to enjoy a dinner at Chick fil A and some fun at Bounce USA. He chose John, Xander, and Patrick. They had such a good time.

The boys seemed to have a great time at Bounce USA climbing, sliding, shooting basketball, playing tackle football in the inflatables, etc. They were worn out. I can speak for my own that he couldn't wait to go to bed.

Sweaty little boys

Even the little boys had a good time. Brooks and Declan (Parick's little brother) played in the 2 and under section. You couldn't even tell that Brooks was diagnosed with an ear infection earlier in the day. Guess the Motrin and numbing ear drops did the trick. He also slept very well.

He thought it was the best thing ever, as you
can tell by the huge smile.

I can't believe my baby boy is turning six in just a few days. We had a great time celebrating 6 full, fun years of life and we look forward to many more years.

The Weekend in Review

Friday started with Logan's Fall Party at school. I am one of the room parents so I was there to help set up and was responsible for planning the craft. I chose to do pipe cleaner spiders because they are easy and didn't take long to assemble. The kids seemed to enjoy doing them. The other stations that we had set up were a Halloween twister game, pumpkin toss, and a decorate-your-own treat bag station. The finished product was filled with all kinds of goodies. We then had some snacks and one of the dad's (that was raised on a farm) talked to the kids about all of the parts of a pumpkin. He cut it and explained it as he went along. They really liked that.

I let Logan be a "car rider" that day and he and I went to Brooks' school for his Halloween party. His little class is sooo cute. They sat around their table and had cookies, fruit snacks, and goldfish. Brooks seemed to enjoy having us there. His teacher must be an angel to do what she does day in and day out. I know I couldn't do it!

We left the school parties in time to go home and get dressed in costume to head to the church fall festival. It included inflatables, rock climbing wall, chili cook off, cake walk, and face painting to name a few. Samantha, Sarah, Andrea and Addison met us there which made it so much fun.

Saturday started off with 3 hours of flag football playoffs. Logan's team came in 2nd place for the season. I am thankful that the season is over. It was very time consuming but Logan enjoyed it. We went from there to celebrate my birthday with some great friends from church. We enjoyed chili, hot tamales, and birthday cake/ice cream. It was great fun!!

and got a power nap in before trick or treating.

We met at a neighbor's house and went around trick or treating together. It was great fun except for the rain that seemed to only get stronger once we stepped outside to go.

Whew, what a busy weekend we had but we sure had fun and made many great memories!!! Logan is already talking about what he wants to be next year for Halloween :)
